Karl Rove's at it again
Karl Rove's at it again -- polluting our airwaves with another smear campaign. And this time, it’s against consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren, just across the border in Massachusetts.
The attack ads his group are running on Boston and Providence TV stations are an early reminder of what Democrats face in 2012: well-funded, right-wing Super PACs that will tell any lie and twist any fact to trick voters into voting against those of us who consistently stand up to Wall Street.
Middle-class families could really use an ally like Elizabeth Warren in the Senate. And she has a good shot at taking back Massachusetts' Senate seat.
But we can’t take anything for granted in the wake of the game-changing Citizens United decision. We need your help to fight back.
Elizabeth Warren and I are on the same page -- whether it’s protecting consumers and homeowners from unscrupulous financial institutions, protecting seniors and working families from cuts to Medicare and Social Security, or protecting our communities and our planet from big polluters.
She has an inspiring story, too, having made her life's work exposing and combating Wall Street's assault on the middle class -- as a lawyer, a professor, and as a leader in the fight that led to the creation of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, her idea for a new consumer watchdog to protect middle-class families.
TIME magazine called her one of the “New Sheriffs of Wall Street” and has twice included her on their list of America’s 100 most influential people. So it’s not a surprise that outside special interests funded by Wall Street are attacking her now. But it also means all of us who have stood up to Rove’s special interest friends need to help Elizabeth fight back.
Thanks for helping Elizabeth Warren join me in the Senate, where we can work together to fight for progressive values and rebuild America's middle class.
Sincerely,

Sheldon Whitehouse
U.S. Senator
